Abstract
1386734 Light guides RANK ORGANIZATION Ltd 7 Feb 1973 [9 Feb 1972] 6038/73 Heading G2J A light guide arrangement, e.g. for scanning a surface 10, comprises at least two light guides 1, 2 having one of their ends 5, 6 mutually adjacent so that substantially the same field of view is seen from the opposite ends (3, 4) of the guides 1, 2 and an integration chamber 7 adjacent the ends 5, 6 to effect intermixing of the beam paths from the grinder. As shown, the chamber 7 has a crosssection corresponding to the common cross-section of the ends 5, 6 of the guides, which may be single members or formed of a plurality of fibres. The chamber 7 may be removeable, Fig. 4 (not shown). Instead of scanning, the arrangement may provide a beam of light emerging at the end (9) of chamber 7 by having a different light source at each of the ends (3, 4).
