1386075 Beverage based on beer and orange wine WATNEY MANN & TRUMAN HOLDINGS Ltd 22 May 1972 [20 May 1971] 16152/71 Heading C6E A beverage consists essentially of a blend of beer and orange wine, the orange wine forming 10-60% by volume of the blend, and the blend incorporates 0.01-0.1 wt per cent of haringin (as a component of the orange wine, or otherwise) to provide a prolonged perception of bitterness and has a sweetness equivalent to 30-80 grms/litre of sucrose. Orange wine obtained by the fermentation of the juice of bitter oranges without addition of peel is preferably employed. The blend may also include the fermented juice of grapes, sweet oranges or other fruits. The blend has a bitterness due to hop constituents in the beer in the range of 8-30 E.B.Us.
