Abstract

1386057 Discharging hoppers ZYKLOS METALLBAU KG DIPL-ING KARL HAEGELE 3 Sept 1973 [4 Sept 1972] 41353/73 Heading B8S Apparatus for discharging flowable granular or pulveralent material 32 from a hopper 1 having a rotatably driven discharge device, preferably a screw 3, comprises a sealing disc 14, 15 biased by a spring 20 to close the hopper outlet 18, and connected to a centrifugal arrangement to counteract the force of the spring 20 when the screw 3 is rotated, to permit discharge of the material 32. The screw 3 is driven from a motor 6 through a shaft 7, which fixedly carries an abutment 13, the latter carrying arms 24 apertured at 25 to slidably receive bolts 26 extending from the sealing disc 14, 15, to drive and guide the latter. Chains or weighted cables 21 connect the sealing disc 14, 15 to the abutment 13, and upon rotation of the screw drive assembly, the chains 21 centrifuge outwardly pulling the sealing disc 14, 15 against t he spring 20 to open the outlet 18 or completely counteract the spring closing force whereby the screw easily discharges the material. The screw 3 may have two oppositely coiled sections feeding two similar controlled outlets 18, 29.
