Abstract

1385959 Making writing heads ROBERT BOSCH GmbH 25 May 1972 [26 May 1971] 24573/72 Heading B3A [Also in Division G5] A method of making a writing head comprises helically coiling an electrode wire 18, Fig. 2, round two parallel rods having grooves 12a for determining the spacing between adjacent wire coils, sections of the wound wire between the two rods being stretched parallel to one another and being embedded in an insulating material 19. In operation insulating plates 16, having contact wires 17 embedded therein, are placed in recesses 13 in the rods 12. The rods are rotated by a winder 10 so that the wire 18 lies in grooves 12a. The ends 17a of the contact wires are then welded to the wire 18 after which a resin 19 is cast over the wound sections of electrode wire. Finally a grinding wheel 21 is passed along slots 15 to cut the wire 18, the ends of which spring out elastically to form the head shown in Fig. 3. In another embodiment the cast resin 19 is replaced by a sheet of plastic which is welded to the plate 16.
