Abstract

1385873 Ingot mould lining processes FOSECO INTERNATIONAL Ltd 15 June 1972 [16 June 1971] 19099/74 Divided out of 1385872 Heading B3F The subject-matter disclosed is the same as co-pending parent application noted above, but the claims are directed to a method of loading a hot-topping apparatus with hot-top lining slabs (for lining an ingot mould or its head-box) and to a method of lining an ingot mould or head-box by introducing an automatically loaded lining apparatus carrying slabs into an ingot mould or head-box. In a loading apparatus slabs are carried in a magazine on rods. The magazine is advanced so that the rods engage slab-carrying projections on a hot-top lining apparatus. The slabs are advanced one at a time from the rods to the slab-carrying projections and are held to the hot-top lining apparatus by automatically operating spring clamps.
