Abstract

1385050 Cooling metal bars NIPPON STEEL CORP 28 Dec 1972 [29 Dec 1971] 59747/72 Heading C7N Apparatus for cooling metal bars. e.g. H-bars, comprises a unit 14 in which the bars are quenched, e.g. with water or aqueous solutions, by upper and lower nozzles 15, 15', and further nozzles 16 arranged to spray the sides of the bars. Successive lots of bars are transported into the unit 14, and are moved step-wise through the unit by the conveyor 7.
