Abstract
1384292 Soaking; crushing and drying barley J R A POLLOCK and A A POOL 4 Sept 1973 [12 June 1972] 27360/72 Heading A2Q [Also in Division C6] Compositions useful in brewing are prepared by (a) soaking cereal grain in water to bring its water content to at least 30%, (b) draining-off any surplus water, (c) crushing the grain and (d) drying the crushed grain. The grain may be barley. It may be dehusked before soaking in water. After soaking, the grain may be crushed in a roller mill and dried in a stream of warm air.
