Abstract

1384207 Deodorizing manure FMC CORP 4 June 1973 [5 June 1972] 26491/73 Heading C1B [Also in Division A5] A method of effecting odour abatement in animal manure (e.g. cow or chicken manure), comprises treating a slurry of the manure with hydrogen peroxide until the odour is no longer objectionable. The hydrogen peroxide may be in the free state or combined as a peroxyhydrate of an inorganic salt (e.g. NaBO 2 .H 2 O 2 .3H 2 O or 2Na 2 CO 3 .3H 2 O 2 ). The treated manure remains odour-free for several hours and may be transported during such time to an open field or a compost station.
