Abstract

1383281 Encapsulated dentifrice flavouring COLGATE-PALMOLIVE CO 2 March 1973 [15 March 1972] 10307/73 Heading A5B Dentifrices comprise minor amounts of encapsulated flavouring, the capsule material being impenetrable to the flavouring and such as to rupture in use of the dentifrice. The capsules are generally micro-capsules of, for example, PVC, polythene, pheriol-formaldehyde resin, paraffin, carob bean gum, shellac or animal, vegetable, mineral or synthetic waxes. The flavouring may be peppermint, spearmint, anethole, menthol, carvone, or eucalyptus. The capsule may also include colouring, enzymes, tooth hardening agents (e.g. soluble fluorophosphate), bactericides, anti-enzyme agents, sodium saccharin and paraffin wax. The composition may also indude a polishing agent, a liquid carrier, a gelling agent, a soap or synthetic detergent, andfurther flavouring.
