Abstract

1383095 Selective signalling INTERNATIONAL HEALTH SYSTEMS Inc 15 Nov 1972 [17 Nov 1971] 52689/72 Heading G4H An automated health-history acquisition system presents recorded questions to the patient audibly. At a booth, the questions are supplied to headphones from a magnetic tape under control of a central computer (or the patient), codes identifying the questions being supplied to and stored in the computer from the tape. In response to each question, the patient presses one of 3 buttons to answer YES, NO or DON'T KNOW, the answer being stored in the computer together with the patient identity indicated from a card reader or thumb wheel switch in the booth. The question, answer and identity information stored in the computer is printed out. The patient's answers are indicated visually or audibly as they are given at the console. The questions may be displayed visually as well as presented audibly.
