Abstract

1382673 Disc mills R B REINHALL 24 Feb 1972 [16 March 1971] 8636/72 Heading B2A A disc mill comprises a pair of discs at least one of which is rotatable, 14 (as described) and cooperates with a fixed disc which is formed with a duct or ducts through which water is supplied to the grinding space via one or more openings on its grinding surface. As described the fixed disc comprises three screw adjustaible annular holders 22-24 supporting refining plates 26-28. Water is supplied via valves 56, pipes 54, 55 and axial channels 58 opening into a channel 60 from which extend channels 62 to a further channel 64 in two of the holder members. Water is thus distributed around the circumference of the disc and flows via gaps 66 into the spaces 32, 33 between discs. The spacing of the discs is adjusted by an arrangement of gearing 46, 44 and handwheels 50.
