Abstract
1382476 Cigarette filters CALGON CORP 4 April 1972 [7 April 1971] 15456/72 Heading A2C [Also in Division C1] An active carbon of molecular sieve properties has an average carbon tetrachloride number no greater than 2.0, and a surface area of at least 45 am<SP>2</SP>/gm when measured by iodine absorption, and is used as a cigarette filter. It is said to be particularly suitable for menthol cigarettes, being able to remove the harmful constituents from the cigarette smoke whilst permitting the menthol to pass through.
