Abstract

1382269 Stabilized chrome yellow HOECHST AG 17 Dec 1971 [19 Dec 1970] 58702/71 Heading C1A [Also in Division C4] A pigment comprises (a) orthorhombic chrome yellow, or distorted tetragonal molybdate red, stabilized with (b) dehydroabietylamine, with or without or an aliphatic mono-, di- or tri-amine having from 10 to 20 carbon atoms. The amine may be tallow fatty amine, coconut oil amine, or tallow fatty propylene diamine. The pigment may also comprise silica, alumina and/or antimony trichloride, and in the case of chrome yellow sulphate ions. The amine may be added to a reaction mixture before, during or after the preparation of chrome yellow, but only after preparation in the case of molybdate red. Pigments so stabilized can be used in printing inks.
