Abstract
1382137 Hook fastenings OMRON TATEISI ELECTRONICS CO 21 July 1972 [31 July 1971] 34268/72 Heading E2A [Also in Division H1] An instrument mounting assembly, e.g. for a timing, counting, or signalling device is received (Fig. 2) by a receptacle 10 carried by a panel 20, the receptacle being an open ended flanged cylinder 9 closed by a. socket member. A plate 11 retained by the flange has parallel extending wings 12, 13, with inwardly extending registering pins 14, 15 and a bore corresponding to the outer diameter-of cylinder 9; the flange being secured to the panel by screws (not shown). The socket member of insulant material carries plural sockets for terminal pins of the assembly extending therethrough as connection terminals. The assembly 30 comprises a cylindrical housing bearing an insulant ring 32 carrying terminal pins 33 and at the other end a bezel 34 shaped to engage the flange of the receptacle 10, accommodating e.g. a timer and associated components within cylinder 31 for connection over the pins and sockets to an external electrical circuit. The bezel is bounded by opposed rims 34a, b; 34c, d surrounding a calibrated timer dial, a pointer, and a preset index (Fig. 3 not shown) which may also carry indicator means. A pivotal U-shaped handle 50 (Fig. 4) has a transverse grip 51 and similar upstanding arms 52, 53 each of which terminates in fingers 100, 200 defining a curved slot 300 between curved edges 101, 201. Fingers 200 have semicircular recesses 202 capable of engaging pins 14, 15 of wings 12, 13 and also carry inwardly extending pins 203 adjacent the recesses which locate in U-shaped notches e.g. 34e of the rims 34c, d. The latter also carry circular projections, e.g. 34f locating in the curved slots 300 of the arms 52, 53, when the handle is fitted to the bezel so that its side arms rest in recesses of. the rims 34c, d. Thus the handle 50 is loosely rota table about pins 203 between a horizontal position in which the assembly 30 and the receptacle 10 are separable, and a downward vertical position in which these are locked one to the other. When the assembly is inserted in the receptacle however, the handle 50 engages and pivots about pins 14, 15 on wings 12, 13 which engage recesses 202 of arms 52, 53 as working pivots. The handle is held in its released position while assembly 30 is fitted into cylinder 9 and pin 203 locates in notch 34e. On rotation of the handle towards the locked position (Fig. 5) edge 101 contacts projection 34f and terminal pins 33 locate in the openings of corresponding sockets. Further rotation of the handle locates pin 203 into the bottom of notch 34e and force is applied to projection 34f through finger 100, so that the pins are forced further into the sockets until over centre latching occurs between edge 101 of finger 100 and projection 34f in the locked position (Fig. 6) at which the projection registers with the opening of slot 300 and the handle is suspended loosely by pin 203 in notch 34e. For separation, handle 50 is pulled out towards the released position, and pins 203 engage the edges of notches 34f and the handle pivots on pins 14 and notches 34e to withdraw the assembly 30 (Fig. 7). A drilled lug upstanding of the grip 51 co-operates with a screw engaging the bezel for locking. The housing and assembly body may be square or rectangular, and the former may be substituted by a frame connecting the bezel to the insulating ring.
