Abstract

1381415 Garment stiffener R F ROWELL 11 May 1973 [7 July 1972] 22657/73 Heading A3V An elongate flexible stiffener 18 for a foundation garment has a projection 42 at one or both ends, and is capped by a hollow terminal 22 having a slot 40 in one wall to receive the projection. The tip of the terminal is readily pierceable by a sewing needle. If the garment material shrinks on washing the stiffener can move relative to the fixed terminal.
