1380540 Change-speed control ZAHNRADFABRIK FRIEDRICHSHAFEN AG 20 Aug 1973 [8 Sept 1972] 39210/73 Addition to 1234745 Heading F2D In an hydraulic gear shift control as described in Specification 1,234,745 means are provided whereby when a 2-3 shift valve 90 is moved to the right to transmit pressure medium from a conduit 213 to a conduit 404 to engage a third gear clutch K2 a second gear brake or clutch B1 is rapidly exhausted. This is effected in the embodiment shown by lands on the shift valve 90 controlling ports 102, 103, 104. When second gear is engaged the brake or clutch B1 is pressurized from the valve 150 through ports 156, 157, a conduit 403, ports 102, 103 and conduit 401, and when the shift valve 90 is actuated by governor pressure admitted through a passage 241, the port 102 is closed and the conduit 401 is exhausted through the port 104. In another embodiment, the connection between the valve 150 and the brake or clutch B1 is through a separate piston valve which interrupts such connection and opens a vent in response to pressure in the conduit leading to the clutch K2.
