Abstract

1380460 Disazo dyes BAYER AG 11 Aug 1972 [12 Aug 1971] 37564/72 Heading C4P [Also in Division D1] Disazo dyes of formula where R is H or alkyl; X is -CONH- or -NHCO- and K is a coupling component of the 2 - amino - 8 - hydroxy - naphthalene mono- or di-sulphonic acid series linked in the 1- or 7-position to the azo group, with the proviso that if the linking is in the 7-position K is a radical of formula when R 1 is H, alkyl, acyl or substituted phenyl if X is -CONH- or H, alkyl aryl, alkanoyl or benzoyl if X is -NHCO- are described and are used to colour natural and synthetic fibres, leather and paper in red and brown shades. The dyes as above but wherein R 1 is not H, are claimed per se. The dyes are prepared by azo coupling using appropriate components.
