Abstract

1379679 Holder for volatile substances L'OREAL 23 June 1972 [24 June 1971] 29601/72 Heading A5G A holder for solid, volatile deodorising, disinfecting and the like substances comprises two members 1 and 7 each having a pair of concentrically spaced, apertured, cylindrical walls 2 and 4, and 8 and 10 respectively. The volatile material is placed within the inner wall 2 of the first member, which fits within the second member, walls 2 and 4 being sliding fits within walls 8 and 10 respectively. Relative rotation of the two members thus restricts to a greater or lesser extent the access of air both to the volatile material and to the annular compartment between the wall pairs 2 and 8 and 4 and 10, through which air may circulate via both the apertures in the outer walls 4 and 10 when these are wholly or partly in registration and also via the holes 6 in the base of member 1. The volatile material may be inserted as a preformed block or as a liquid through appropriate apertures in the base (see Figs. 2 and 5, not shown) and allowed to set. For Figures see next column
