1379263 Packaging meat BORDEN (UK) Ltd 14 March 1973 [23 May 1972] 24302/72 Heading B8C [Also in Division C3] A package for preserving fresh meat at 0-2‹ C. comprises a plastics film of a vinyl chloride polymer with a plasticizer of butyl benzyl phthalate, this film having a low permeability to oxygen and completely enveloping the meat to enclose a reduced oxygen atmosphere. The film may be from 28 to 115 microns in thickness, and is heat-sealed after evacuating the package or flushing with an inert gas.
