Abstract

1378374 Cleaning metal turnings &c. MACLEOD CO 31 Jan 1973 [31 Jan 1972] 4851/73 Heading C7E Metal turnings or cuttings are cleaned whilst being conveyed by a helical vane 13 through a perforated, rotatable, upwardly-inclined drum provided with baffles 26 to prevent loss of the pieces of metal through the perforations. Bars 32 with toothed edges between the baffles cause the pieces to cascade over the baffles. Washing and rinsing solutions are sprayed through nozzles 33, 34, 35 in conduits (18), 22. Nozzles 37 are provided to back-wash the perforations.
