1377963 Starting converters GENERAL ELECTRIC CO 11 Nov 1971 [12 Nov 1970] 55424/73 Divided out of 1377962 Addition to 1279856 Heading H2F In a starting arrangement of the type described in Specification 1,279,856 (e.g. for starting a converter in a HVDC system), comprising one or more bridges, each having N valves, gate pulses are applied simultaneously to the N/3 valves which precede the valve which is due to be fired by the gate pulse next generated after the incidence of a starting signal, without waiting for the time of said next generated gate pulse.
