Abstract

1375899 Teleprinters SIEMENS AG 29 June 1972 [8 Sept 1971] 30455/72 Heading H4P A teleprinter receiver receiving multi-element start/stop character signals, comprises a shift register in which the signal elements are stored and a signal analyser which, if start polarity is present in the stop element and all the characters, issues a blocking signal to prevent onward transfer of the character elements. In the arrangement in the figure, AND gate Gl, on detecting start polarity in all character elements K1-K8 of a received character signal, primes gate G2 which interrogates stop element KSt and if this is also start polarity, issues a blocking signal to transfer control unit USt which prevents the transfer of characters to intermediate store Z1-Z8 and setting up of circuit ASt, which would normally indicate signals ready for call up by the printer. In a teleprinter receiver with a mechanical decoder device, the stop element may control electromagnetically an additional receiver code bar. Specification 1,210,625 is referred to.
