Abstract

137,578. Inshaw, G. R. Jan. 6, 1919. Skew-rolling; rolling tubes.- Metal tubes, billets H, or the like are skew-rolled by sets of disks a<1> - - a<4> revolving independently of each other, mounted in adjustable carriers B carried by a rotating frame C. The disks are all mounted on the same shaft A, one being fixed to the shaft as shown. A pusher E, one prong of which engages a groove f in the guide F, may assist in feeding the work and prevents it from revolving. A piercing bar G, preferably also prevented from turning, may be employed.
