1375521 Storing liquefied gases BRIDGESTONE LIQUEFIED GAS CO Ltd 24 Jan 1973 3644/73 Heading F4P [Also in Division F2] The wall of a free-standing or membranetype liquefied gas tank includes a heat-insulating layer of sulphur 3, which may be reinforced, e.g. with glass wool, metal framing, or sand, or mixed with granular, heat-insulating material, e.g. foamed polyurethane or perlite. The sulphur may be in a foamed condition. The wall also may include a layer of another heatinsulating material. Crack-interrupting members may be included in the sulphur layer, Fig. 5 (not shown). A heat-resisting layer of concrete may be included, Fig. 8 (not shown). The wall may comprise a plurality of interlocking blocks containing sulphur, Fig. 9 (not shown). The free-standing tank shown has a weather-proof layer 4, e.g. of plaster, protecting sulphur layer 3.
