Abstract
1373877 Micro-biological testing F HOFFMANN-LA ROCHE & CO AG 1 Sept 1972 [2 Sept 1971] 40707/72 Heading C6F [Also in Division G 1] Micro-organisms are identified by a method which comprises adding them in aqueous suspension to a lyophilized nutrient medium comprising agar-agar and a pH indicator in capillarytubes, or broth and a pH indicator in micro containers or microfibre plates, incubating tocomplete the reaction and observing the growth. The medium may contain a carbohydrate and/or, an amino acid, and/or an antibiotic. The microorganisms may be human pathogenic bacteria e.g. Enferobacteriaceae.
