1373830 Graters, slicers; saucepan fittings AMERICAN METALCRAFT CORP 12 Jan 1972 [11 June 1971] 1507/72 Headings A4A and A4C [Also in Division B1] A food grater and slicer device 1 has a grater surface with grater teeth 4, 5 Fig. 2 and a cutting edge in its base 6 and has a peripheral wall (3) Fig. 1 (not shown) and a flange 2, Fig 6. around the top thereof so that the grater may be fitted into a cooking pot, Fig. 6, and so that any grated food 9b which does not pass into the pot will collect in the dished body of the grater and not fall to waste on the floor. The cutting edge 6 for slicing cucumber &c. may depend from the lower face of the device, as viewed in Fig. 6, so that it may be utilized without interference from the grating teeth, or it may be formed on the same side as the teeth. If the cutting edge does depend downwardly, feet 3a may be provided so that the edge is not damaged when the grater is stood on a hard surface. Slits 7, Fig 2, facilitate removal of the device from a pot &c. SAUCEPAN FITTINGS The grater may be used as a steamer insert in a saucepan 10, Fig. 7 or inverted and used as a bottom grid in a cooking pot (16), Fig. 10 (not shown), or used as a strainer, Fig. 9 (not shown). In a further modification, Fig. 13 (not shown), the device 1 may be used as a steaming insert in a large vessel (19), an intermediate ring (18) being located between the device and the vessel.
