1373799 Packaging machines; rotary conveyers FR HESSER MASCHINENFABRIK AG 3 Dec 1971 [4 Dec 1970] 56120/71 Headings B8C and B8A A transfer device for machines for manufacturing, filling and sealing packaging containers 2, by means of which, open containers manufactured on fold mandrels 5, are transferred into conveyer cups 18 of a conveyer arrangement 19 associated with a filling and sealing device of such a machine, comprises a conveyer spider 1 which is rotatable in a step wise manner and which is provided with a number of cups 3 which are open at both ends and which are arranged on the arms of the spider 1 to pivot in planes passing through the axis of rotation of the spider, rods 15 being freely pivotable about a bearing pin 12 which is arranged eccentrically of the axis of rotation of the spider, the free ends of the rods being connected through joints 16 to the cups 3 such that the cups are pivoted between two predetermined pivoted positions during each rotation of the spider. As shown, the spider 1 is driven by a hollow shaft 6 which fixedly supports a pillar 10 carrying the bearing pin 12, the arrangement being such that after each container 2 is received in a cup 3 from the mandrel 5, it is transferred to a second position above the cup 18 into which it is blown by a nozzle 4.
