Abstract

1373644 Diversity reception systems MARCONI CO Ltd 23 Feb 1972 [23 April 1971] 10912/71 Heading H4L In a diversity reception system in which incoming signals on paths A and B are combined at 2 under the control of voltages on leads 4, 4a, narrow bandpass filters 5, 5a, select noise signals above but adjacent to the upper frequency limit of the base band signal spectrum from inputs A, B respectively. The outputs of filters 5, 5a are amplified at 6, 6a detected at 8, 8a inverted in D.C. amplifiers 9, 9a and supplied as gain control signals to the combining circuit 2. These control signals also via filters 10, 10a, control the gain of amplifiers 6, 6a, respectively. Alternatively, the fillers 5, 5a may be wideband filters having a passband above and considerably spaced from the baseband signal spectrum.
