Abstract
1373564 Polyalkoxylated nitrophenyl, quinolyl and quinolylsulphonyl derivatives TEXACO DEVELOPMENT CORP 29 March 1973 15077/73 Heading C2C [Also in Divisions C3 and E1] The invention comprises compounds R(OR<SP>1</SP>) m - OH, where R is a nitrophenyl, quinolyl or quinolylsulphonyl group; R<SP>1</SP> is C 2-4 alkylene; and m is 5-50. The compounds of the invention may be made by reacting a suitable aryl derivative (e.g. R-OH or R-halide) with the appropriate polyalkylene glycol. The compounds of the invention are used in alkaline solution as solubilizing agents in the extraction of hydrocarbon materials from natural formations bearing them (e.g. in oilwells).
