Abstract

1373432 Photographic processes AGFAGEVAERTAG 2 Feb 1972 [5 Feb 1971] 4882/72 Heading G2C A process for the production of an image comprises (i) forming a vesicular image in a supported light-sensitive layer containing a binder and (ii) heating or treating with a swelling agent for the binder to eliminate the vesicular image and change the refractive index of the layer in the image areas and (iii) making this change visible by optical means e.g. by "Schlieren" methods, by "oblique illumination" or by projection. Normally a vesicular image on a silver image produced as in Specification 1196200 is used in the above process; the vesicular image being eliminated by treatment with water or steam and leaving the original weak silver image and the change in the refractive index.
