Abstract

1373169 Bookracks J ROHR 23 Feb 1972 [26 Feb 1971] 8239/72 Heading A4U [Also in Division B6] A book support comprises U-section elements 1, 2, each having a flat base 3, 4 and parallel lateral walls 5, 6, 7, 8 of equal size and of rightangled triangular shape, the elements being brought together while standing on a flat surface and adjacent walls 6, 7 secured in abutting relation by a gripper 9. The gripper consists of a U- section strip of resilient material extending the length of the hypotenuse sides and having bevelled ends. The bases 3, 4 are of different widths to correspond to the thickness of the book to be received, and in modifications a smaller-based element is received inside a larger element, or each element comprises several integrally formed compartments. In further modifications, the free edges of the hypotenuse sides are curved, a curved gripper being applied, or the gripper is applied to the rear edges of the walls.
