Abstract

1372553 Yarn guide W E A SHELTON 7 Sept 1972 [9 Sept 1971] 42080/71 Headings D1C D1E D1J and D1M Yarn, withdrawn upwards from two vertical, side-by-side packages which are joined endto-end, passes over a guide bar and through a common guide, yarn from the two packages successively passing over different bar parts. As shown, Fig. 5, the bar has depressions J<SP>1</SP>, J<SP>2</SP> whose apices are aligned with the package axes. Yarn Y<SP>1</SP> passes through depression J<SP>1</SP> until yarn Y<SP>2</SP> is raised, the yarn then sliding along the bar into depression J<SP>2</SP>. Alternatively, Fig. 9, yarn Y<SP>1</SP> is raised over leg 10a of the V-shaped bar, and yarn Y<SP>2</SP> is raised over the other leg, the joined yarn between the packages being looped behind the upturned bar apex 10c. The packages are arranged in pans 15 on creel bars 16. A continuous guide bar may be used for adjacent package pairs. The bar may alternatively be straight.
