Abstract

1370009 Delivering measured quantities of powder XEROX CORP 20 Dec 1971 [23 Dec 1970] 59118/71 Heading B8N [Also in Division G2] A toner metering device comprises a cylinder 10 having slots 24 spaced along its length, each slot 24 having a shoot 26 leading thereto so that as cylinder 10 is rotated toner passes into the shoots 26 through openings 27 and then out of the cylinder 10 through the slots 24. Cylinder 10 is shown in a housing 2 containing a donorcum-agitator roller 9 and a developing brush 4. Preferably cylinder 10 is rotated by the paper feed mechanism of the copier through a gear train (not shown).
