1369478 Money dispensers GLORY KOGYO KK 29 Dec 1971 [29 Dec 1970 19 Oct 1971] 60284/71 Heading G4X A money dispensing machine for dispensing a plurality of monetary kinds, in particular banknotes, has means for inputting to a memory section SR either an amount of money or a number of pieces of a particular monetary kind required, the machine being selectively operable to dispense either said required amount, with the least possible number of pieces of money, or said required number of pieces of the particular monetary kind. In the embodiment described each digit of an amount required is entered by way of a ten-key means, encoder EM and buffer register BR into shift register SR, which has five digits (four bits per digit) a four bit shift instruction being issued by pulse generator PG (Fig. 2, not shown). On depression of a start button banknotes of a denomination corresponding to the highest digit in the register are dispensed, the banknotes being counted by counter RD and the number compared by comparator CR with the number in the highest digit of the shift register. When the required number of banknotes of that denomination have been dispensed a coincidence signal is issued which is applied to the pulse generator PG causing a further four bit shift instruction to be applied to the register to shift its contents one digit higher, the dispensation of the next denomination of banknote then proceeding as above. When a certain number of banknotes of a particular denomination are required the corresponding function key is depressed after operation of the ten-key means, this causing pulse generator PG to issue a 16 bit shift instruction is issued to shift the content of the lowest digit in the register up to the highest digit. When the start button is depressed banknotes of the required denomination are dispensed until the coincidence signal is issued by comparator CR to terminate the dispensing operation. In a second embodiment (Fig. 3, not shown) respective memory sections (10TR), (5TR), (1TR) and (5HR) are provided for storing data of the amounts required of denomination manually designated. When switched to the mode of dispensing with the minimum possible number of pieces one of these memory sections is used to store the total amount to be dispensed.
