1369209 Note indicator L NEILL 19 Jan 1972 [22 Jan 1971] 2958/71 Heading G5X A stringed instrument tutor, intended for the guitar and like fretted instruments comprises a base member 1, hinged into two parts 2 and 3, part 2 having a series of longitudinal slots 8 representing the strings, and printed thereon fret positions 7 and the note notation related to each finger position. Studs 11, which are slidable along slots 8, are provided to set up the fingering of a chord or note sequence, each note having its position on the musical stave indicated on part 3. Two further slots 14 and 15 indicate the barrÚ position and the general finger position on the fret board to which the music relates. In a further embodiment, the fret positions are provided with slots 20, Fig. 3 (not shown), and a number of studs 11, Fig. 3 (not shown) are provided for each slot 20. Further possible embodiments include coloured studs, a bar across slots 8 to indicate a barrÚ position and means to adhere the studs to include static electricity or magnetic attraction.
