Abstract

1367382 Hearths CERAVER 1 March 1972 [9 March 1971] 9643/72 Heading F4B A furnace for the thermal treatment of products supported by a gas cushion, comprises a hearth 2 which is composed of a plurality of contiguous hearth elements 3 and which extends rectilinearly between opposite ends of the furnace. Each element is either porous or includes passages 6 to allow support gas to flow therethrough. Means are also provided, preferably pusher means, to cause continual gradual movement of the hearth elements through the furnace on shoulders 7, 8.
