1366312 Gas/liquid contact C-W PILO 14 Dec 1971 [17 Dec 1970] 59941/70 Headings B1F and B1R In gas/liquid contact apparatus of known type, Fig. 1, in which there is countercurrent gas/liquid flow in passages between plates 24 the walls of plates 24 are contoured and/or include surface irregeulations as in, e.g. Fig. 5, Fig. 9 and Fig. 11 or as shown in Specification No. 859,097 so as to form regions along the passages for alternately accelerating and decelerating the gas and for forming and reforming fresh liquid surfaces in the passages.
