Abstract
136,539. Alber, E. Dec. 13, 1918, [Convention date]. Battery lamps.-A switch is provided to enable some or all of the battery cells a, b, c, d to be included in the circuit in series. One pole of the cell a is connected to the lamp casing through a spring 111 the other pole being connected to the adjacent cell b, the end cell d being connected to an insulated conductor 9. An insulated conductor G is connected to each of the cells c, d. A curved insulated spring 7, 10, 13 has its end 13 in contact with the central terminal of the lamp, the two arms 7, 10 being adjacent to but spaced apart from the ends of the conductors 6, 9 as shown in Fig. 3. A sliding, rotary, or other switch member 15 enables contact to be made between the arm 7 and conductor 6 or between the arm 10 and conductor 9, thus excluding or including the cell d in the circuit. Either wet or dry cells may be employed. The lamp bulb and switch are situated in an extension of the casing above the battery.
