Abstract
1365221 Hoses KRASNOYARSKY ZAVOD RESINOVYKH TEKNICHESKIKH IZDELY 18 May 1972 23425/72 Heading F2P A hose is made by wrapping an elastomeric tubular lining in a carcass by repeated rotation of both carcass material and lining through steps of equal angle about the long axis of the lining while transparting both lining and wrapper longitudinally of the lining, the lining being filled with fluid during wrapping. As shown in Fig. 1a, a hose lining 2 is laid along one edge of a wrapping strip 1. Both hose and wrapping are then rotated through a small angle at 3 (Fig. 1b) and then rotated through the same angle at 4 (Fig. 1c), 5 (Fig. 1d) and 6 (Fig. 1e) successively to produce a partially wrapped hose. Repeat of the sequence (Figs. 1f to 1k and 1l to 1o) completes the wrapping. A device (12), which is stated to perform the abovementioned sequence as the hose lining and wrapping strip are moved in the axial direction of the lining, is described with reference to Fig. 3 (not shown), and comprises a plurality of guides 13 (Fig. 4), each of which is in the form of one turn of a helix (i.e. the ends defining slot 19 are axially displaced). A series of wheels 18 are accommodated in radial slots and are pivoted on a "ring" axle (20) (Fig. 5, not shown) formed as an helical spring. The ends of axle (20) are secured at the sides of the slot 19. The wheels 18 are thus inclined to the axis of the guide 13 and impart rotation to a tube passed axially through the guide. A plurality of such guides are coaxially disposed in a tubular holder (14) (Fig. 3, not shown). The guide (21) at the inlet end of the device is of planar rather than helical form, and imparts no rotation to,the entering lining. A hose making apparatus (Fig. 2) comprises an extruder 7 for forming the lining 2, a conveyer 11 for transporting the lining to the device 12 of Fig. 3, and a supply of carcass material 1 fed onto the conveyer 11 below the lining. Pull of rolls 22 pull the hose from device 12 and a further extruder 24 applies an outer cover, the bath 27 containing a coolant and lubricant. The finished hose is callected in a tank 28, the hose end being held at constant height byanadjustable pillar 30. Means (not shown) are provided to introduce fluid within the bore of the lining and the end of the hose secured to pillar 30 is unsealed, the height of the pillar ensuring a suitable fluid "head". The device 12 is inclined to enhance the pressure of the fluid. The lining and cover may be of elastomer (e.g. rubber) and the carcass may be of rubberized fabric.
