Abstract

1364494 Electric kettles BACKER ELECTRIC CO Ltd 20 Nov 1972 [20 Nov 1971] 54004/71 Heading A4A [Also in Division H5] A steam-cut-out is made adjustable for different electric kettle sizes by a dome 12, comprising inner and outer tubes 13, 17 having closed ends 14, 15, arranged to extend slidably upwards about a central steam pipe 8 and a concentric tube 10. The tube 10 is brazed to the element sheath at its base 9, steam passing to the steam pipe via hole 16. A seal ring 19 and brazed fitting 20 seal and retain the dome relative to the steam pipe 8. A vent hole 15 to prevent siphoning is provided. The steam pipe communicates with the cut-out switch 3 at pipe end 7. A reset button 5 is provided.
