Abstract

1364248 Alkylalkoxy siloxane coated particles DOW CORNING Ltd 15 Dec 1971 [17 Dec 1970] 59920/70 Heading B2E [Also in Divisions C1 C2 and Dl] Particulate substances (including pellets, &c.) are coated with an alklyalkoxysiloxane wherein the alkyl radicals are methyl radicals and/or 2,4,4-trimethylpentyl radicals and the alkoxy radicals have from 1 to 4 inclusive carbon atoms, said alkylalkoxysiloxane having an average of from 1.0 to 1.3 alkyl radicals per silicon atom and a content of silicon-bonded alkoxy radicals of from 5 to 40% by weight. Specific mention is made of coating perlite. The coated particles are moisture resistant and caking is reduced.
