Abstract

1362589 Semi-conductor logic and switching circuits ENGLISH NUMBERING MACHINES Ltd 4 Oct 1972 [3 Nov 1971] 51102/71 Heading H3T [Also in Division B6] Printing apparatus including means for detecting marks on a document comprises a plurality of photo transistors 24-30. If none of the transistors are illuminated a "set" AND gate 52 is operated and if all are illuminated, indicating the absence of a document, a "reset" AND gate 60 is operated. A "set" signal fixes a thyristor 70 to fire causing a capacitor 72 to discharge and operate an actuator 74. A "reset" signal fires a thyristor 78 to switch off thyristor 70, de-energize the actuator and recharge the capacitor.
