Abstract

1360444 Colour television SONY CORP 31 Aug 1971 [1 Sept 1970] 40590/71 Heading H4F The colour television camera described in Specification 1,328,411 is modified in that the switched inversion of successive line outputs of signals supplied to synchronous colour detectors is effected to the chrominance and not to the index signal. The arrangement is stated to reduce interference patterns in the form of vertical bands due to a carrier component of the chrominance signal. Fig. 10 illustrates a further modification in which the index signal is obtained by superimposing on the video signal an output due to illuminating the camera tube in successive vertical flyback periods with red and cyan light from xenon tubes 176R, 176C. In this embodiment the delay provided by circuit 181 is one field period. Reference has been directed by the Comptroller to Specification 1,322,520.
