Abstract

1360283 Two part couplings B G JONES 12 Oct 1972 [23 July 1971] 34588/71 Heading H2E An electric plug in which the leads are both anchored and pressed in contact with extensions on the pins by fixing the cap to the base. The base, Fig. 1, has sockets 8 for pins 9 bearing extensions 10 with channel shaped ends 11 in which the bared ends of the wires seat. One pin carries a fuse at F. Projections 12 locate the extensions 10. The three wires pass through alternate spaces 14 between flexible guides 13. Wedge-shaped members 15 on the plug cap 6, Fig. 2, engage the unoccupied spaces 14 and deflect plates 13 to clamp the leads. Members 16 press the wires in channels 11 into electrical contact with extensions 10. Members 17 and 18 clamp the ends of the fuse and the pin extensions 10. The cap and base may be of elastomeric material and the cover may be secured by screws or by the engagement of a bead 8 under a rim 7. It may then be removed by forcing projections 20 apart.
