1359735 Grab buckets PEINER MASCHINEN-UND SCHRAUBENWERKE AG 23 June 1971 [23 June 1970] 29517/71 Heading B8H A grab for loose material comprises two grab shells 1a, 1b which move towards and away from each other about bearings 2a, 2b mounted on an operating head 3 by means of a cylinder 10, a flap being provided in the region of the upper, outer marginal zone of each grab base 14a, 14b, such that in the position shown in Fig. 1a the flaps form an extension (11a) of the grab bases so that more material (indicated by the hatched area 15a) can be held by the grab than when the flaps are hinged upwardly (11b) as in Fig. 1b leaving an opening 16 adjacent each grab base.
