Abstract

1359128 Lasers LICENTIA PATENTVERWALTUNGS-GmbH 15 March 1973 [28 June 1972] 12522/73 Heading H1C In a laser in which a required harmonic 7 of the fundamental generated radiation 5 is developed by a non-linear crystal 2 located within the laser resonator 6, 8, the harmonic is coupled out of the resonator by a dispersion prism 1 in contact with the crystal. The region of contact between the crystal and prism is normal to the laser beam within the crystal, and the end surfaces of the crystal and prism combination are arranged at such angles as to provide Brewster angle reflectionless transmission. The crystal may be ADP(NH 4 H 2 PO 4 ) or KDP(KH 2 PO 4 ) and the output radiation may be ultra-violet.
