Abstract

1358704 Shelving UNITED STATES GYPSUM CO 5 Nov 1971 [5 Nov 1970] 51580/71 Heading A4B [Also in Division E1] A partition 20 comprises metal studs 32 and panels 27 of paper or vinyl covered plasterboard the edges of which may be reinforced, wherein the panels are secured to the studs by strips 5 which clamp the panel edges between the strip flanges 56 and the stud faces 34. Slots 54 are provided along the length of the strips 50 to receive shelf or shelf-supporting brackets 36. The studs are engaged in conventional ceiling and floor runners, and a skirting board is secured to the panel bases. The panels may be secured to alternate studs by the strip 50 and adhered to the flange 34 of the intermediate stud. The pair of legs extending from the back of the strip 50 space the panel edges for engagement of the brackets 36.
