Abstract
1358299 Insecticide containing alpha- and beta-chlordanes VELSICOL CHEMICAL CORP 19 July 1971 [20 July 1970] 33737/71 Heading A5E [Also in Division C2] A composition finding application as an agricultural insecticide, consists substantially of alpha-chlordane having a melting point range of about 103-104C and an infrared absorption spectrum (CS 2 soln., 0.25 gms/5ml) having identifying bands at 7.60, 7.98, 8.20, 8.52, 9.17, 9.30, 9.73, 10.21, 11.10, 12.12, 12.75, 13.33 and 14.25 microns and beta-chlordane having a melting point range of about 107-108 C and an infrared absorption spectrum (CS 2 soln, 0.25 gms/5ml) having identifying bands at 7.88, 8.57, 9.23, 9.30, 9.75, 10.21, 11.10, 12.10, 13.27, 13.80 and 14.25 microns, the composition containing a total of less than 5% by weight of heptachlor and nonachlor.
