1357711 Imidoyl phenothiazine compounds BRISTOL-MYERS CO 16 Jan 1973 2272/73 Heading C2C Imidoyl phenothiazine compounds of the general formula in which X and Y are independently hydrogen or halogen, or a methylthio, trifluoromethyl group or a lower alkyl group having 1 to 4 carbon atoms or a lower alkoxy group having 1 to 4 carbon atoms; and A is one of the following groups -CR<SP>2</SP>=N-R<SP>1</SP> or wherein R<SP>1</SP> is a lower alkyl group having from 1 to 4 carbon atoms, a di(lower)alkylamino group having 2, 4, 6 or 8 carbon atoms or a cycloalkyl group having from 3 to 6 carbon atoms, R<SP>2</SP> is hydrogen or a lower alkyl group having from 1 to 4 carbon atoms, R<SP>3</SP> and R<SP>4</SP> are independently hydrogen or a lower alkyl group having 1 to 4 carbon atoms and n is a number from 3 to 5 are prepared by reacting in the presence of phosphorous oxychloride in a suitable inert solvent (a) a phenothiazine of the general Formula I in which A is hydrogen with (b) 3-thiomorpholinone or a carboxamide of the formula The compounds may be in the form of non-toxic pharmaceutically acceptable acid addition salts. Many compounds are claimed per se. The compounds have pharmaceutical properties.
