1357386 Photoconductive resins RANK XEROX Ltd 24 Aug 1971 [25 Aug 1970] 39611/71 Heading C3R [Also in Division G2] A photoconductive resin is obtained by condensing formaldehyde with N-beta chloroethylcarbazole. The resin contains repeating units of formula The condensation may be carried out in a solvent in the presence of an acid catalyst and the formaldehyde may be in the form of paraformaldehyde, formalin or trioxane. The material may be used to form electrostatographic images, the resin being in the form of a layer on a substrate; a dye sensitizer may be mixed with the resin.
